On May 3 series of street rallies and round tables meetings were dedicated to the World Press Freedom Day.
In one the street rallies protesters symbolically tied their eyes, mouth, chained their hands and placed Georgian magazines and newspapers inside cages. They explained that this was a way of describing what the situation is like today. The demonstration was organized by media organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Students from Tbilisi’s Art Academy organized a small street performance, enacting a funeral procession for Georgian media, bringing flowers to a makeshift tombstone.
