On March 12th, the Open Society Georgia Foundation hosted Ukrainian expert, Iryna Solonenko – researcher at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt. She is a co-author of the “European Integration Index for Eastern Partnership Countries 2013”.
During 2012-2013 years, the research has been conducted in six Eastern Partnership countries – Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan and gives the opportunity of comparing the data of each country from year to year.
The research aims at evaluating the effectiveness of commitments and reforms conducted in the framework of the Eastern Partnership countries cooperation with the EU. The study showed that Georgia stands second after Ukraine among six countries.
Iryna Solonenko, together with her Georgian colleagues talked about the prospects of the Eastern Partnership in light of recent events in Ukraine.
Dmitry Shulga, Director of the European Program of the International Renaissance Foundation arrived in Tbilisi together with Iryna Solonenko. He discussed the current situation in Ukraine and talked about the challenges faced by the country.
