“We invite everyone who upholds the Georgia’s European choice and aspires to become a full-fledged member of the European family to join us on April 13th on Europe Square. Every citizen of Georgia should have the same position on this issue. We encourage everyone, regardless of their political beliefs, to come together around this idea” – More than a hundred of Non-Governmental Organizations made the appeal to the citizens to join a civil action-concert in support of Georgia’s European ambition under the motto “We Choose Europe”, on April 13th on Europe Square.
The event was held by the Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership, which unites 115 non-governmental organizations.
Georgian musicians, artists, journalists, athletes and representatives of other professions have joined the open-air concert initiated by non-governmental organizations. The video statements reflecting the personal choice of celebrities, which were produced by NGOs before the event, have been presented to the public during the concert.
The repertoire of the concert was varied and interesting for people of all musical tastes. The concert participants: Ensemble “Lashari”, Big Band of the Tbilisi City Hall, Gio Sukhitashvili, Mariko Ebralidze, Aleko Berdzenishvili, Gordela, Z for Zulu, Tinatini, Ara, Eldrine ,The Jetbird, LOUDspeakers, KID Jesus.
The rally was attended by Philip Dimitrov – Ambassadors of the European Union to Georgia. George Margvelashvili, President of Georgia, addressed the public.
“We all are here united under a clear purpose, which is not just a choice of any political party, politician or a public servant and this choice has not been made by people standing here together as well. This is a choice made by our ancestors, who have created a delightful country like Georgia, who made our culture on the basis of principles of freedom, spiritual freedom, acceptance and tolerance. Therefore, we are here not just because of our choices, but also due to choices made by our ancestors”. – said George Margvelashvili, President of Georgia.
