New Guide to Human Rights in Healthcare

19.05.2014

The Health and Human Rights Resource Guide has been published.

This is a 744-page publication, which is intended for a wide circle of readers. It will be particularly interesting for health care professionals and lawyers. The chapters of the guide are devoted to human right issues, such as patient care, patients’ rights and palliative care, rights of persons infected with HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, persons with disabilities and their right to health and other health issues faced by marginalized groups.

The guide can be used for the development of thematic and training courses, as well as for preparation of health-related lawsuits and implementation of strategic litigation.

The book has been prepared by OSGF’s Public Health Program. Promotion of the health and human rights of marginalized groups will remain as a priority goal of the program in 2014.  The Public Health Program will work actively to set up mechanisms to protect health rights of marginalized groups, overcome discrimination and exclusion in the healthcare system, empower community based model services and ensure marginalized group involvement in decision-making processes.

The online version of the book was published on the same website on May 8.
