Joint Statement by Civil Society Organizations

Georgian CSOs: We will not release information about people under our protection, information related to our activities is on our websites

We, Georgian NGOs, continue to protest the illegal demands of the Ivanishvili/Kuprashvili Anti-Corruption Bureau, which the clan court obediently satisfied.

In June 2025, the Ivanishvili-Kuprashvili Bureau, through the Murusidze court, requested us to provide personal information about the people under our protection – victims of torture, women victims of violence, pupils, students, teachers, pensioners, disabled people, entrepreneurs, whistleblowers, journalists, observers, illegally dismissed civil servants, as well as information about our activities.
The Court of Appeal, chaired by the US and UK-sanctioned Chinchaladze, did not satisfy our appeal and issued a decision in violation of at least 10 laws. The demands, among others, contradict:

The Constitution of Georgia;

Personal data protection legislation;

International standards of confidentiality of human rights defenders;

The European Convention on Human Rights and the practice of the ECtHR.

Once again, we unequivocally declare that we do not intend to betray the trust of our citizens. We will not give anyone access to the confidential information of the people we have helped. We are accountable to the citizens, not Ivanishvili. The information related to our activities, finances, projects, and international cooperation, the disclosure of which is not prohibited by the Constitution and other laws, is located on our websites and social media, therefore, we will not send them additional documents.

Ivanishvili, as part of his repressive policy, is trying to destroy Georgian civil society organizations, like Putin’s Russia. This is part of Ivanishvili’s anti-Western policy, which serves to destroy democracy in the country and destroy relations with international partners.
We once again declare that we do not intend to live by Russian laws and continue to fight to protect the rights of the Georgian people.
