On January 20-23 the Open Society Georgia Foundation hosted the training workshop on ‘CEDAW Activism to Ensure Women’s Rights in Georgia’ for 20 representatives from 11 NGOs forming the Coalition for Equality.
The training aimed at refreshing the participants’ conceptual knowledge of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms
of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) – its principles and processes, Introduce the mechanisms of the CEDAW Committee and highlighting good practice examples of use of CEDAW in national-level advocacy for ensuring women’s rights. Ishita Dutta and Wathshlah Naidu from International Women’s Right Actions Watch Asia Pacific share their knowledge.
The training was organized with technical support from the International Women’s Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific.
