Open Society Georgia Foundation announces open competition to select expert who will be responsible for identification of priority ARVs, DAAs and TB medicines and assessing patent barriers/status; preparation freedom-to-operate analysis and conducting scientific and legal research; Drafting opposition/lawsuit and file case.
Since September 2018, Open Society Georgia Foundation together with partner organizations is implementing an international project USE OF TRIPS FLEXIBILITY TO INCREASE AFFORDABILITY OF TREATMENT FOR HIV, TUBERCULOSIS AND HEPATITIS C VIRUS IN MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES.
The goal of this project is to improve public health outcomes and generate financial savings by increasing access to treatment for HIV, HCV and TB in 17 low – and middle-income countries through the strategic use of TRIPS flexibilities.
Open Society Georgia Foundation will undertake various types of activities to insure affordability of essential medicines, including: preparation of data bases, raising awareness on intellectual property and access to medicines, strengthening civil society, preparation patent oppositions and conducting various campaigns.
Main responsibilities:
** identification of priority ARVs, DAAs and TB medicines;
** assessing patent barriers/status;
** prepare freedom-to-operate analysis and conduct scientific and legal research;
** engagement in drafting of opposition/lawsuit and filing of case;
** close cooperation and effective communication with project team;
** timely and qualitative fulfillment of imposed tasks and duties;
** open and clear relations while operation of duties;
** obtain and periodically update the data;
** provide consultations and assistance to project team in planning of different events and preparation of relevant documentation;
** participation in different thematic events.
Qualification requirements:
** Higher education;
** minimum 2 years working experience in relevant field.
