On July 13, the Institute of Policy Studies unveiled results of a research, ‘Generations and Values’ in the National Library at Parliament of Georgia.
The survey conducted with the support from the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF) sought to identify differences in the values of different generations as well as challenges on the way to the democratic development of the country.
The Institute of Policy Studies selected two value orientations as research tools – individualism /collectivism and materialist/post-materialist value orientations as well as related values. It also looked into the factors linked to these values, including confidence in others, optimism, economic welfare, self-evaluation etc. The research tried to find out the attitude of generations towards democracy, political processes, education, religion and gender equality. It also analyzed their attitude towards minorities.
Please, see the research findings in the publication ‘Generations and Values’. The document is available in the Georgian and English languages.
