The Open Society Georgia Foundation Hosted Two Discussions

22.11.2023

The Open Society Georgia Foundation, with the participation of representatives from the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Foundations, hosted discussions on two current topics: the European perspective and mechanisms for dealing with disinformation.

Elections in Europe and possible influence on the foreign policy of the European Union, the Eastern Neighborhood and Accession Policy – the prospects of Eastern Europe were discussed by representatives of CSOs working on European integration issues and the Open Society Foundations’ network. Along with sharing experiences, the panelists and the audience also commented on the current processes and expectations in the region.

How does civil society confront disinformation in the context of real and hybrid wars? The discussion on this topic continued with media representatives/organizations working on disinformation issues in Georgia. Along with discussing the spread of disinformation in Eastern European countries, the panelists exchanged opinions about misleading narratives and ways to deal with them.
