During the recent Local Government Elections on June 15th, the Media Center continued operations as usual. The Media Center was established to disseminate information about the results of observer missions conducted by CSOs.
Similarly to previous years, representatives of ISFED, GYLA, TI-Georgia, Development and Democracy Center, Multinational Georgia, Human Rights Center and Public Advocacy gave briefings about the election process at the Media Center on Election Day and post-election.
The Media Center was launched the June 14th. On Election Day, twenty-two briefings were given at the Media Center, with up to 16 briefings the following day.
All interested journalists were given an opportunity to work at the Media Center. All the press-conferences were streaming online via the Internet. Different TV outlets made live broadcasts.
The Media Center actively operated during Parliamentary, Presidential and LG Elections in previous years.
