Meetings on Patient Rights Issues Held in Regions

On March 24 and 25, information meetings on patient rights were held with IDPs living in Senaki and Zugdidi. Meetings were conducted by the Georgian Association of Bioethics within the framework of the project “Patient’s Rights Hotline”. The project is supported by Open Society Georgia Foundation.

Representatives of the project “Patient’s Rights Hotline” provided important information regarding to the medical services to the local residents, teachers and pupils.

Particular interest of citizens was centered on the access to medicines. Talking points also included the issue of responding to possible violations of the rights by citizens. After the meeting procession was held on the main street of the city, in which volunteers, wearing patients’ rights hotline branded T-shirts handed out information brochures.

Meetings in regions will be held throughout the patient’s rights week.
