Since April 2013 the Civil Society Support Program of the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF) has implemented a project, which aims to develop capabilities of NGOs working on ethnic minority issues. Through training courses and workshops the organizations are given theoretical knowledge and basic skills essential for the efficient management, organizational development and successful operation of NGOs.
The training courses have been run by the Center for Change and Conflict Management Partners – Georgia and the Center for
Strategic Research and Development of Georgia. The seminar has brought together around 50 representatives of more than 25 non-governmental organizations.
The first stage of the program scheduled for July-October 2013 will address the following issues: strategic planning, protection of civic interests, seeking grants and preparing applications.
On July 9-10, 2013, 17 employees of 13 NGOs working on ethnic minority issues attended in Tbilisi a training course on strategic planning. The two-day training aimed to give trainees knowledge and skills for the organization of strategic planning process. The training focus on the following topics: importance of planning, mission statement and vision statement, types of information, data gathering & analysis techniques, strategic choice; decision making techniques, definition of strategic goals, program logic, interrelation of program and projects and organization of the planning process.
