Project “Law, Media and Health”
Law and judicial strategy plays the main role in the health care system. Accordingly, the law might be a very important mechanism for the society to raise awareness, involvement and accountability.
At present the civic rights protection in the health care field is far from the regularization as the health care law does not exist as separate discipline in Georgia.
Thus, Open Society Georgia foundation, within the frameworks of the project “Law, Media and Health”, decided to organize training for Judges and Prosecutors, for the first time in Georgia, called “Law and Health”. The main goal was to look through the situation in legislation and health care fields. Training for prosecutors was held in Gudauri on October the 25th-29th 2006.
The participants were from the office of Public Prosecutor as well as from the different regions of Georgia. Training for Judges was organized in Bakuriani on December the 1-4th 2006. Participants were from the Tbilisi city court as well as from the cassation and Supreme Court, also from different regional courts of Georgia.
