We will not obey the “Russian law”!

2 Sep, 2024

The decision of the Civil Society Foundation remains unchanged: we will not obey the “Russian law” and will not register in the registry that is degrading. The reason for this decision of the Foundation remains unchanged: the “Russian law” is directed not only against Georgian media and Georgian non-governmental organizations, but also against every citizen, the Constitution of Georgia and the European future of our country.

Our protest and struggle will continue until the “Russian law” is repealed! The lawsuit of non-governmental and media organizations, the President of Georgia, and the parliamentary opposition to suspend the law is already being considered by the Constitutional Court of Georgia. A lawsuit is also being prepared for the European Court of Human Rights.

The “Russian law” is unconstitutional and poses a direct threat to Georgia’s statehood, its European future, and the well-being of its citizens. The “Russian law” is aimed at dividing society and suppressing freedom of speech.

The “Russian law” will make vulnerable people who get help from Georgian NGOs. Under this law, we will not hear the voices of those people who tell us about their hardships and problems through independent media.

This is the government’s response to cases of violence, corruption, lawlessness, and selective justice that have been being exposed and reported by Georgian non-governmental organizations and independent media.

We will not obey the “Russian law”!

We will continue to fight the “Russian law”, we will continue to strengthen each other, help the citizens of Georgia and once again show the world that we will not Russify!

This is Georgia!
