On March 22, 2008 in Akhmeta, Kakheti region was held team competition in wrestling/judo under the slogan “Children against drug addition” at Olimpic champion Z.Zviadauri hall, within the framework of the joint project “Public Prosecutor’s Office” by Open Society Georgia Foundation and general Prosecutor’s office of Georgia, on initiative of Telavi regional prosecutor’s office. Young men from judo schools, borne after 1990 in 8 weight categories from Akhmeta, Gurjaani, Lagodekhi, Sagarejo participated in competition. The tournament provoked great interest in Kakheti residents that was obvious by active support by fans.Olimpic champion Zurab Zviadauri attended and acted as a referee of the competition. The winner of the competition was Akhmeta team, second and the third places were divided between Akheta and Dedoplistskaro teams. The prize winner teams were granted special cups and souvenir diplomas, medals and gifts.
