The goal of the “Transparent Foreign Aid to Georgia” Coalition is to promote the transparency of the foreign financial aid pledged to Georgia by donor countries and international organizations to assist Georgia in overcoming the crisis following the August 2008 armed conflict, increase government accountability, and promote the participation of civil society in the management of this aid. The Coalition will undertake the following activities with regard to the financial aid pledged to Georgia by donor countries and international organizations:
- Oversight of aid allocation and expenditure;
- Analyze the effectiveness of donor monitoring mechanisms based on the principles of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness;
- Conduct a large-scale PR campaign at the local and international level;
- Raise civil society participation in decision making processes;
- Cooperate closely with representatives of the Georgian Government, donors, political parties, local and international organizations, and the mass media. Et
