One of the acute problems affecting patients under palliative care is related to legal consequences following their death, in particular division of the property, care for family members etc. Operating palliative care centers (hospices) are unable to provide patients with proper legal services.
Law, Media and Health project plans to establish Western practices in
providing free legal aid at Hospices, with voluntarily involvement of legal firms. Under the project training for palliative care hospices /30 participants/ was held in Gudauri November 28-30.
Training covered basic legal issues related to palliative care patients, person’s last will, inheritance, gifts, child adoption, etc.
Trainers were: Mr. Rema Gvamichava /Manager of palliative Care Hospice/; Mr. Dimitry Kordzaia /Humanist Union – Head of Organization/, Mr. levan Mosakhlishvili /Lawyer from law Firm “Korzadze and Partners”.
