Pastel Expression in Open Gallery

16 Mar, 2010

On March 12 the Open Gallery hosted the opening of the exhibition of Gela Jincharadze’s paintings.  The exhibition is called Pastel Expression.  Soft pastel colors, impressive, emotional portraits prevail in the work of the artist. Painter’s feelings and emotions are vividly seen in his pictures.  His characters are lonely, sad, and full of fear. Very few of them reflect hope for the future.

The painter uses Chinese and Japanese painting techniques to paint some of his pictures.

Gela Jincharadze is a patient of the Art Therapy Department of the Institute of Psychiatry.  He has held around twenty personal exhibitions in Georgia.  Besides, he has participated in group exhibitions in Britain, Germany and Switzerland along with other patients with mental problems.

Gela Jincharadze’s works have won recognition abroad.  Around ten pictures of the painter are still kept in the Museum of Switzerland.

Exhibition will last until March 27, 2010.
