On April 30, 2008 Harm Reduction Georgia Network organized a round table at Public Defender’s office of Georgia within the framework of the project “Drug policy advocacy and harm reduction Georgia network organizational strengthening” funded by Open Society Georgia Foundation.
The meeting Concerned existing drug policy and human rights. According to the data of 2007, 30 million lari from drug related penalties was added to budget within the context of allocating inconsiderable amount of money on drug addiction treatment.

Public Defender, Sozar Subar and representatives from his office discussed implementation of penalties against the background of low accessibility  to curative programs and emphasized that the amount of money spend on tests for identifying the fact of drug usage significantly exceeds the sum allotted for treatment.
The round table was aired by Rustavi 3, “Mze”, “Achara TV.
